POLICIES

The following cover our most frequently asked policies.  For complete details on our policies and corresponding forms, please go to our Documents & Links Library page.

Payment Policy

Weekly tuitions are due on Monday in advance for the week.  Payments made after Monday will be charged a $500 late fee.  All co-payments are to be made on the 1st of every month.  Children may not attend until all obligations have been met.  The enrollment fee is non-refundable.  Families who are habitually late in their payments may be excused from the center.

Arrival and Departure

Each child must be signed in and out each day by the parent.  This not only keeps our records straight, but helps ensure your child's safe entrnce and departure from the center.  If your child is to be picked up by someone other than a parent, please notify the center in Advance and a photo I.D. will be required.   A copy of this I.D. will remain on file.  A teacher must be made aware of a child's arrival and departure.  Parents are required to notify the center any time that their child will not be in attendance.  For Visitor info, go to the Safety & Security Page.

After Hours

Growing Tree must pay staff members extra to stay late to care for children whose parents are late.  Therefore, a late fee is charged to the paretn to cover this expense and inconvenience to the teacher.  The amount of $2.00 is charged for the 1st 5 minutes each child is left after 6:00 p.m. and $1.00 for each additional minute after that.  A child will not be allowed to remain enrolled in the center if the family is habitually late in picking them up.

Medication Policy

Medication will be administered at the center ONLY if it is properly signed in on the child's individual medication card and if it is in the original container.  All medications must be handed directly to a staff member for proper storage.  No medications may be left in children's bags.  Diaper cream and sunscreen are considered meds by DHS and must be signed in.  All prescribed or over the counter meds must be given according to the instructions on the bottle and correct dosage must be followed.  If label says "not for children under two years of age"- then we cannot give it to a child under two without a Dr. note.  Meds are given at 11:00 and 3:00.  Please arrange home dosages to accomodate these times.  Meds that are only to be given twice daily will not be administered.  The center will not be responsible for administering the initial dose of medicine to a child.  Expired meds must be discarded.

For the Sickness Policy, go to the Safety & Security Page.

Holidays

The center is open 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.  The center operates year round and is closed only on the following days:  Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving.  Exceptions may be made when holidays fall on a weekend.  Advance notice will be given.  The center will offer a sign-up sheet for care on Christmas Eve day.  If no family needs care on this day, the center will close.  Otherwise, the center will be open until 1 p.m.  There is no reduction in tuition for holidays.

Vacation Policy

As per tuition agreement, each family is entitled to 3 weeks of vacation per year - 1 week every four months.  Vacation time must be taken in weekly increments; it cannot be broken down into days.  We can, however, prorate tuition.  Vacation time must be requested and approved by the Director IN ADVANCE and account balances must be paid in full.  There is no reduction in tuition for days that your child is sick or absent, holidays, or days that we are closed.  Anytime that you drop and re-enroll, your vacation time starts over.  Vacation is not carried over from one year to the next.  For those who have been here a year or more, vacation time runs from Jan - Dec.
